Taylor Swift’s Response to Critics
Taylor Swift recently addressed those suggesting she should take a break from the limelight. During her chat on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the 35-year-old artist shared insights about seeking advice from industry peers and spoke about one of her guiding principles: the importance of career longevity.
She noted, “Careers last longer, friendships last longer, relationships last longer.” It seems she values the idea of sustaining good work over time. However, she also acknowledged a perspective where people question if it’s time for others to take the stage. “I don’t want to do that,” she remarked, indicating a desire to keep her place in the spotlight.
Swift revealed that she turns to three key figures for guidance: singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks, record producer Max Martin, and her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce. She expressed, “I can talk to him about anything,” highlighting their close bond.
Reflecting on the past year, Swift said that 2025 was a particularly “good year” for her, filled with gratitude, especially after getting engaged to Kelce and reclaiming her master recordings. She mentioned to Colbert, “These two things could have never happened,” emphasizing the significance of those milestones in her life.
She attributed her ability to regain her master recordings to her dedicated fans. In August, Swift and Kelce shared their engagement news on Instagram, featuring a post that captured a sweet moment of Kelce proposing surrounded by flowers.
The two began dating after he attended one of her tour stops, and Kelce shared his disappointment at not being able to see her post-concert on the New Heights podcast.
The “Eras” tour was a massive commitment for Swift, spanning nearly two years from March 2023 to December 2024, and featuring 149 shows across five continents. Despite challenges like battling gastroenteritis on multiple occasions, she pushed through, saying, “My goal was to never let anyone know that I had gastroenteritis.”
After each performance, she described feeling like a “flashing light bulb” and found balance through a specific routine that involved taking baths and enjoying room service. “Being able to turn them off for a little while is really exciting,” she said, hinting at the joys of unwinding after intense shows.
In her downtime, she indulges in true crime narratives and enjoys audiobooks filled with intriguing love stories or unexpected twists. It seems she balances her busy life with a touch of lighthearted escapism.
