For those hoping to see less of Taylor Swift in the NFL spotlight, now is the time to pay attention.
The renowned pop artist has been featured in ESPN’s six-part documentary series titled “The Kingdom,” showcasing the Kansas City Chiefs as they head into the 2024 season, featuring team members including tight end Travis Kelce.
Swift has been quite supportive of this recent project, as noted by coach Kristen Lappas during a press conference.
All episodes of “The Kingdom” are available for streaming on ESPN+.
Swift made waves in the NFL world back in September 2023 when she was spotted cheering for Kelce at the Chiefs games. Since then, she has appeared at several regular-season matches, even attending the last two Super Bowls to support the team.
Recently, she guest-starred on the Kelce Brothers’ podcast, “New Heights,” where it reportedly set records for viewership across different platforms.
Her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” attracted a record 1.3 million simultaneous livestream viewers on YouTube, and her appearance on the podcast led to its largest audience to date.
In an interview with CNBC Sports earlier this year, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt remarked on Swift’s influence, estimating that her presence contributed to a “30% increase in the fan base.”
He mentioned that the organization had seen significant growth among female fans and younger demographics, attributing part of that to Swift.
In the “Docusary,” star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive tackle Chris Jones reminisced about Swift’s debut in NFL games during the 2023 season, recounting the excitement in the locker room when they discovered she was present.
“We were all like, ‘Taylor Swift is here.’ And then saying things like, ‘Wow, Travis is with Taylor Swift,’ was quite the moment,” Mahomes shared.
