Awards ceremonies are typically big events filled with beautiful dresses, dashing tuxedos, and good-natured conversation as celebrities praise the achievements of their colleagues.
Occasionally, the show takes a break from red carpet fashion and celebratory remarks when something a little more outlandish occurs.
Fox News Digital presents some of the most memorable moments in recent awards show history.

2008 Emmy Awards – Heidi Klum and Tom Bergeron
Supermodel Heidi Klum and former “Dancing with the Stars” host Tom Bergeron shared a moment together at the 2008 Emmy Awards, which left Klum bruised and bruised. Oops.

During the skit, Burgermon picks up Kurumu and puts him on the ground. He accidentally drops his girlfriend and she hits the floor hard.
It looked like it hurt. Backstage, she had her photo taken with her skirt pulled up, but there was a large bruise on her lower back. However, she said there was no bad blood between her and Bergeron. He helped her when her girlfriend was showing her scars.
2022 Oscars – Will Smith and Chris Rock
Chris Rock hosted the 2022 Oscars and cracked a joke referencing Jada Pinkett Smith. He pointed in her direction and said he couldn't wait to see her in “GI Jane 2,” a nod to her close-cropped hair.

She rolled her eyes at this remark, and her husband, Will Smith, laughed at first, but then quickly got up, went on stage, and slapped Rock without saying a word.
“Don't say my wife's name,” Smith yelled as he returned to his seat. Rock insisted his comments about Pinkett Smith were just a joke, but Smith reiterated his demands.
Locke managed to remain calm despite the slap, and Smith won the Best Actor Oscar. In the aftermath, the academy banned Mr. Smith from attending ceremonies for 10 years.
2023 Golden Globe Awards – Jo Koy

Comedian Jo Koy tried to tell some jokes at this year's Golden Globes, but many of them fell flat. After a few jokes, Coy began blaming the writers for the unpopular content.
One joke that didn't hit was one about the blockbuster “Barbie” movies. Director Coy compared the film to other blockbusters, saying, “'Oppenheimer' was based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and 'Barbie' was based on a plastic doll with big boobs. “It's the subject matter,” he said.
Many viewers thought this comment was a complete departure from Barbie's feminism and was just another example of the misogyny that the film spoke out against.

There was another stinging response from pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“You know, we came out after a doubleheader of football,” Coy said. “What's the big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? Taylor Swift doesn't get many camera shots at the Golden Globes.”
The singer gave a deadpan response and took a sip of his drink, clearly not amused.
Reflecting on his performance in an interview with Good Morning America, Coy admitted that his performance was “a little lacking.”
2009 VMA – Kanye West and Taylor Swift
Another memorable awards show moment involving Taylor Swift happened in 2009 when Swift accepted the trophy at MTV's Video Music Awards.

After accepting the award for Best Female Video, Swift took to the stage to give a speech. It was completely normal until the moment Kanye West got on stage with her.
“Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'll just end this now, but Beyoncé's video was one of the best videos of all time,” West said. “One of his best videos of all time.”
The cameras showed a shocked Beyoncé, then back to West, who shrugged and handed the microphone back to Swift. She didn't seem to know what to do as the audience booed her waist move.
Later in the show, Beyoncé accepted the award for Video of the Year and called Swift back to the stage to finish her speech.

Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar in 2013 for her role in The Unique Playbook. She seemed shocked when her name was called, and when attempting to accept her award, she tripped on the stairs leading to the stage.
She knelt down, collected herself for a moment, then stood up and finished her journey.
When she got in front of the microphone and received a standing ovation, she joked, “I fell and I felt bad, so everyone was just standing up, so it's really embarrassing, but thank you.''
2017 Oscar – “La La Land”

On stage at the 89th Academy Awards, “La La Land'' producer Fred Berger revealed that production staff and representatives were behind his back about the mistake in awarding Best Picture, which was later awarded to “Moonlight.'' Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announced the Best Picture winner at the 2017 Oscars, but there was a problem. “La La Land” was announced as the winner, and the cast and crew took to the stage. The award was presented and producer Jordan Horowitz began his speech.
As the other producers gave their speeches, it became clear that there was a problem. Crew members could be seen moving around the stage and talking to people. Eventually, someone came up to the microphone and said, “By the way, we lost.”

They immediately called the team behind “Moonlight,” which had actually won Best Picture. It was later explained that Beatty had mistakenly received the envelope containing the Best Actress award, which had just been won by Emma Stone for La La Land. He said he didn't really understand what happened, but as she and Dunaway were trying to figure it out, she read out the title of a movie she had seen.
2003 Oscars – Adrien Brody and Halle Berry
When Halle Berry announced the Best Actor award at the 2003 Oscars and named Adrien Brody for his performance in “The Pianist,” he had an interesting reaction.

As he approached her to accept his award, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her passionately. Berry appeared shocked and she could be seen grimacing and wiping her mouth as she moved to the side of the stage.
Years later, appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Berry explained that the moment wasn't planned and that at that moment he thought, “What is happening now?” .

Although it was an interesting premise to bring together two young singers with Madonna, who was already fully established at the time, most people didn't talk about the musical performance. Instead, the focus was on the “Vogue” singer's kisses with young women.

2014 Oscar – John Travolta

John Travolta was chosen to introduce this performance, which made sense since, as he pointed out, he has a history of appearing in musical films.
But instead of saying Menzel's name, he asked the audience to welcome “the extremely talented, one-of-a-kind Adele Dazeem.”

Travolta later explained that he was panicking at the time because there was a mix-up backstage about what time he would be there. As he was heading to the stage to do the intro, he met Goldie Hawn. He calls him “sexy, charismatic and beautiful” and says he is “star-struck.”
Then, just before he went on stage, someone told him that they had changed Menzel's name to a spelling, which confused him because he hadn't rehearsed it.
