A teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy he met at an Arkansas church that former President Bill Clinton once frequented, according to reports, despite a previous investigation. He allegedly sent her a large number of nude photos.
Regan Gray, 26, was arrested earlier this month after it was revealed that she had been assaulting a boy since 2020 while working as a volunteer at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. THV11 reported Clinton praised the agency as crucial in her preparation for the White House.
According to court documents, the boy’s parents noticed a large number of text messages on their son’s cell phone at the time and reported him to the church’s senior pastor.
Gray, who also worked as a teacher at Little Rock Christian Academy, said she told church leaders the relationship was not “physical” and temporarily volunteered while undergoing counseling. was removed from his job.
Then, in February, authorities became involved after discovering Gray was still exchanging messages with the boy via Snapchat, court documents allege.
In an interview with police, the boy said Gray performed oral sex on him, but that he didn’t have sex to “stay pure,” according to the documents.
The victim claims the abuse occurred nearly a dozen times and took place in Gray’s car and apartment.
In a subsequent interview with the FBI, church leaders acknowledged that Gray had confessed to a sexual relationship during a counseling session last year.
It was not immediately clear whether church leaders or the victim’s parents reported the alleged abuse to law enforcement authorities.
Church leaders resigned earlier this month over their handling of the allegations.
Meanwhile, Gray, who currently works at Sylvan Hills Middle School, was placed on administrative leave in February amid an investigation.
After a warrant was issued for her arrest, she was charged with sexual assault. She was later released on $20,000 bail.
Clinton had made it clear how important the Southern Baptist Church was to her when she tearfully thanked the congregation during a morning service before entering the White House for the first time in 1993.
“If it weren’t for this church…I think it would be virtually impossible for me to go to Washington next week as president,” Clinton reportedly told parishioners. Los Angeles Times reporting From time. “And you’re definitely going to be underprepared for the job.”
