A wild video was released Wednesday showing the moment a fight broke out between a school safety officer and a teacher at a Pennsylvania high school.
The teacher was seen trying to fend off a security guard with a punch before being dragged to the floor of a Harrisburg High School classroom. According to WHTM-TV.
The men then struggled as other teachers, safety personnel and students tried to break up the scuffle.
Harrisburg School District Superintendent Eric Turman said in a news conference that the incident began after a security guard entered a classroom and confronted a teacher about a personal issue.
Two school employees were reportedly placed on administrative leave while authorities investigated the fight, which administrators said was an “isolated” incident.
“I want to make it clear that this incident is completely unacceptable,” Turman said.
“This is highly unusual and is in no way representative of our faculty and staff, who take seriously their responsibility to be role models for our students.”
In a letter to students and parents, the superintendent reportedly addressed “the impact this incident may have had on students who look to our staff as trusted adults.” He said he apologized.
