Arizona Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Misconduct
Authorities in Arizona took a special education teacher into custody on Wednesday after a video surfaced suggesting she was involved in sexual activities with a student, as reported by 12 News.
Charlotte Huby, 24, employed at the Austin Center’s Peoria campus, faces accusations regarding inappropriate interactions with minors. The school confirmed her termination on August 29. Reports indicate that Huby acknowledged having sexual contact with a student during police questioning.
The situation came to light when a supervisor at the school noticed “inappropriate texting” between Huby and a 17-year-old student. Reports indicate that another student informed a counselor about the alleged relationship. Court documents reveal that a video depicting the victim and Huby in a compromising situation circulated on social media.
In a forensic interview, the victim reportedly stated he began dating Huby shortly after they met at school in 2024. Allegedly, Huby claimed they had sexual encounters around 10 to 15 times. In one instance, she purportedly invited the student to a hotel, recorded their encounter, and made specific requests during the act.
The victim’s father believed his son was in a relationship with an 18-year-old named “Angie,” until his son later admitted that “Angie” was actually Huby.
The Austin Center caters to special needs students aged 5 to 22 and operates multiple locations, including Peoria, where Huby worked for six years without any previously reported issues, according to Fox 10.
Huby is set to appear for a preliminary hearing on September 11. Police have stated they are pursuing sexual conduct charges following an extensive investigation, confirming her arrest to 12 News.
As of now, neither the police nor the school has shared details pertaining to the 17-year-old student involved.
