Team USA men’s gymnastics take home bronze in team final, sing national anthem in celebration

Stephen Nedorosik, Paul Judah and Brody Malone all performed well on the pommel horse, helping the U.S. men’s gymnastics team win the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics on Monday.

Nedorosic competed last on the pommel horse and earned 14.866 points, the highest score of any gymnast, while Judah received 13.900 and Malone 13.700.

As the gymnasts watched the rest of their opponents finish their routines, Frederick Richard and her teammates began singing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

There was plenty of support for the American gymnasts, and after some of them finished their routines the crowd began chanting “USA!”

Japan won gold and China won silver, while Great Britain and Ukraine just missed out on the bronze medal.

Each gymnast had to put in a great performance to make it onto the podium.

Asher Hong set records on the rings with 14.533 and on the vault with 14.833, while Richard set records on the parallel bars with 14.566, the high bar with 14.833 and the floor exercise with 14.466.

Judah and Malone needed a near perfect score on the pommel horse, but they delivered, backing up Nedorosic’s performance on her signature event.

Men’s Medals First Victory Each year since the 2008 Beijing Games, the U.S. has won at least a bronze medal. The U.S. won bronze behind China and Japan. The men’s team also won a silver medal in 2004 and a gold medal in 1984.
