The teen who fatally stabbed a man outside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last week was believed to have taken the victims as part of a citywide gang by science group on Tuesday, as the suspect was arrested.
Noah Rentas, 18, was arrested at 8:10am for the murder of 27-year-old Michael Hernandez, officers said.
Rentas was with three other teenagers when Hernandez was stabbed once in the chest and multiple times around 9pm on Friday.
Renta is being charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.
He has no prior knowledge, sources said.
Sources said the murder could have been linked to a wider series of robberies.
When Menendez was killed, nothing was stolen from Menendez, but sources suggested that it could be due to a failed attempt to rob.
Hernandez's family attended Brooklyn's 78th District when Rentas was escorted from the station after his arrest.
