Teenager Assaulted and Robbed in NYC
A 15-year-old boy from New York City has shared his experience from a hospital bed following a brutal attack that occurred on October 22nd. Authorities reported that a group of 13 teenagers assaulted, stabbed, and robbed him.
The victim was making his way home from school in Jamaica, Queens, when the incident took place in broad daylight at the corner of 160th Street and Hillside Avenue, as highlighted by local news outlets.
His mother, visibly shaken, expressed her horror at the situation. “What happened to my son is terrible,” she remarked.
The boy recalled one of his attackers demanding, “Give me all your clothes, everything you’re wearing, all your shoes.” In response, he tried to escape but was shoved and stabbed. The attack left him with severe injuries, including stab wounds, broken bones, and severe bruising, requiring surgical intervention.
According to reports, the assailants made off with the victim’s sneakers, which were valued at $350.
The boy’s mother, speaking in Punjabi, added her distress upon witnessing her son’s condition. She has been by his side every day since the attack, vowing not to leave him.
Local activist Japneet Singh emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that such an incident could happen to any child. “If it can happen to this boy, it can happen to any of our children. We have to ensure their safety,” he said.
The recovery process for the boy is expected to be lengthy, involving multiple surgeries. Meanwhile, the police are reviewing surveillance footage from the area to identify the attackers. They have also encouraged anyone with information to contact crime-stoppers anonymously.
