Tennessee Teen Charged with Bizarre Crimes
A teenager from Tennessee has been charged with a series of unusual offenses, including allegedly attacking a man, forcing a plunger into his mouth, and pouring bleach on him. It’s reported that this incident was a first for him.
The Sevierville Police Department received a call early Sunday morning concerning 19-year-old Charles Dakota Coffman. According to reports, the caller was worried that Coffman may have harmed someone and also felt he might have lured a young girl.
Court documents indicate that Coffman dragged the victim into a bathroom, stripped him of his clothing, and confessed to using bleach on his wounds.
When officers arrived, they had to forcibly enter the residence. Inside, they found a naked man in the bathroom, covered in bleach and suffering from severe head injuries.
The victim was quickly transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with subdural hematomas and other serious conditions.
Furthermore, neither the victim, the stolen vehicle, nor the three-year-old girl were at the location when authorities arrived. Reports suggest that detectives alerted other police units about the stolen vehicle.
Police managed to find the stolen Ford vehicle shortly after, initiating a traffic stop. Coffman, the child, and an unidentified woman were inside the car.
Coffman was arrested, and the child was taken to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital for assessment.
During questioning, Coffman claimed he had received a call from his mother, who was incarcerated at the time. He stated she instructed him to pick up the three-year-old girl.
Interestingly, both Coffman’s mother and the victim appear to be the legal guardians of the girl.
Earlier, Coffman had taken an Uber to his home with the woman while driving a stolen vehicle. In court records, it’s stated that a physical altercation transpired, where Coffman allegedly slammed the victim to the floor, punched him multiple times, and forced a plunger into his mouth.
Coffman has admitted to many of these actions: dragging the victim into the bathroom, stripping him, and applying bleach to his wounds. He also confessed to taking the girl and the car without permission.
According to the arrest warrant, Coffman’s mother indicated to authorities that she hadn’t spoken with her son in some time and mentioned he had not allowed her to gain custody of the young girl or the vehicle.
As a result of these events, Coffman has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, theft, and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held at Knox County Jail.
