A 15-year-old man is accused of beating and robbing an 83-year-old woman in broad daylight in front of a New Jersey supermarket last week, after three adults allegedly silenced him.
somers point police said Officers were called to an Acme supermarket just before 11 a.m. on Oct. 3 in reference to a robbery.
“We hope the judge will acquit them.”
Police say someone approached an 83-year-old Somers Point woman from behind near the entrance of the store, assaulted her and stole her wallet. Somers Point is located on the south Jersey coast about 30 minutes southwest of Atlantic City.
Police said the suspect, described as a young male, possibly white, wearing a mask and dark clothing, fled the scene toward Bethel Road.
Police said the victim suffered injuries to his face and upper body and was later treated and released. said In a follow up post.

Police announced that they executed multiple search warrants on homes and vehicles in Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township to obtain evidence and subsequently arrested the following individuals:
- A 15-year-old male from Egg Harbor Township is charged with robbery, aggravated assault and theft. The boy was taken to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
- Maria DeSantis, 60, of Woodbine, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, using or employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime, and receiving stolen property.
- Charles Ogelsby Jr., 23, of Atlantic City, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, using or employing a juvenile to commit a crime and receiving stolen property. Ogelsby was also charged with possession of a defaced firearm.
- Emily Labaco, 22, of Atlantic City, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit theft, using or employing a juvenile to commit a crime and receiving stolen property.
All three adult suspects were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
