A group of teenage girls were caught on camera trying on heavy make-up to look like blackface inside a Boston Sephora store, with staff slamming their escorts for the “incredibly disturbing” behavior.
A group of three girls appeared in a viral TikTok video trying out makeup testers at the Sephora store at the Prudential Center, two of them covering their faces with makeup meant for darker skin tones. .
Temi Ojora, a track and field athlete at the University of Southern California who filmed the girls in a now private video, called the scene “really disgusting and upsetting.”
“A group of teenage girls and their mothers come to the makeup section to use blackface samples, laughing and making animal sounds,” Ojora wrote.
“This is going to ruin your chances of getting a job or getting into college, let alone how incredibly offensive this is,” the official says.
The attendant left as if to dismiss the employee. Ms Ojora claimed that her male escort and one of the girls then confronted her and asked her to delete her video.
The identities of the adult attendant and the three girls have not been released.
Sephora condemned the group’s actions and noted that they were asked to leave the store due to their intolerable behavior.
“We deeply regret the behavior of these shoppers at our Prudential Center store, which is why they were asked to leave,” the company said in a statement. “Under no circumstances will this type of behavior be tolerated at Sephora.”
The Boston store did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
The Boston incident comes amid a boom in TikTok’s “Sephora Kids” in which teens and pre-teens are caught vandalizing beauty stores and bullying staff with “mean girl antics.” Ta.
Employees at the beauty chain also spoke out about the treatment of young customers, accusing them of intentionally messing up stores and cosmetics displays.
