Video footage has emerged showing two teenagers brandishing large machetes in broad daylight on a street in Brooklyn.
This video, shared by the Boropark Shomrim Volunteer Patrol, captures one of the boys with the weapons around 5:10 PM on Monday.
The group included a young man in a black hoodie armed with a machete, as seen in the footage.
Later that afternoon, another teen wearing a red hoodie was seen with the weapons on 43rd Avenue and New Utrecht Avenue.
Reports indicate that the 14- and 15-year-olds attacked one person with a machete and threatened another, according to law enforcement.
The boys were spotted running up the street after being confronted by Shomrim members.
At one point, a young man reportedly stabbed an 18-year-old in the back during the altercation, police sources stated.
These teens also allegedly threatened a 26-year-old man with a machete near 45th Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway.
Eventually, police and Shomrim members apprehended the teenagers.
Both have been arrested and are facing charges of gang assault, assault, and criminal possession of weapons, according to authorities.
Witnesses noted the quick actions of Shomrim volunteers ultimately led to the recovery of the machete and the arrest of the two teens.
The 18-year-old victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition, police reported.
“Their quick action led to the machete being retrieved and two teenagers arrested,” said Shomrim regarding its members’ involvement.
