Tenant at Trump Tower claims landlord took her $7,000 Hermes bag after she missed rent payments

Residents at Trump Tower are backing claims from Sehra Waheed, an interior designer, who alleges that her landlord, Trinity Bui, wrongfully seized her high-end possessions after she fell behind on $90,000 in rent.

Waheed, 46, originally rented a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment on the 18th floor for $7,500 a month in November 2022. However, after the first month, her hopes of a dream home turned to disillusionment as a promised business loan didn’t materialize to cover her expenses.

Bui asserts that Waheed failed to make any rental payments since moving in.

A year-long legal dispute reached a turning point in December 2023 when a court ruled in favor of Bui for Waheed’s eviction.

According to Waheed, shortly after that ruling, she noticed that her belongings were missing.

She accuses Bui of taking her black Hermes Kelly bag, along with various Chanel items, antiques, and designer accessories, claiming this was retaliation for the unpaid rent.

“It was that kind of trauma,” Waheed shared.

She suspects that Bui collaborated with the manager of Manhattan Mini Storage to auction off her items.

Legal documents state that Bui engaged in actions that were extreme and utterly unacceptable within a civilized society.

Waheed has initiated a $1.5 million lawsuit against Bui and the Trump Corporation.

Bui has labeled Waheed as a “con artist,” accusing her of using deceptive tactics to achieve her ends without fulfilling her financial obligations.

No comment has been received from the Trump Corporation regarding this matter.
