Tennessee groom killed in car crash while traveling to honeymoon with bride day after wedding

According to reports, the newlywed husband was killed in a car accident while traveling with his bride on their honeymoon on Monday, the day after the couple got married.

The couple’s pickup truck then rolled over multiple times, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a semi-truck.

Palacios died in the crash, the Fayette County Fire Chief confirmed to the report. Carrillo was injured but survived.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Palacios, a private truck driver, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the fatal crash.

The crash happened this afternoon on Interstate 40 in Fayette County, about 60 miles from Memphis.

Palacios was killed the day after his wedding, his father, Daniel Palacios Jr., confirmed. daily mail.

The two got engaged in September 2023.

He said his daughter-in-law was “devastated and emotionally distraught” by the accident and her husband’s death, but had since been released from hospital.

“She’ll be fine,” he told the outlet.

Video of the aftermath of the tragic accident was shared with WREG by a passerby.

“As we approached the wreck, the rear tire went flat and we hit the median and flipped over maybe 20 times,” Dennis Van told the media outlet.

Vann, who frequently travels Interstate 40, said the extent of the damage from the wreck was the worst he had ever seen.

Palacios Jr. wrote a touching message on Facebook saying his son’s funeral will be held on March 16 and asking everyone to send “expressions of love and above all prayers” as the family grapples with the tragedy. I was grateful for that.

The death of a newlywed husband is the latest tragedy to occur on Interstate 40 in Tennessee.

Hours after Mr. Palacios was killed, a plane carrying three children and two adults crashed on a freeway while approaching Nashville’s John C. Thune Airport, about 320 miles away.

Horrifying footage has been released showing a single-engine plane crashing along a motorway and bursting into flames, moments after the pilot warned the plane they would “not make it in time.”

All five victims died in the accident.
