Law enforcement authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, arrested a man Sunday in connection with a series of crimes across the city that left one man dead and several others injured, police said, adding that he was out on bail on murder charges at the time. .
Memphis police said a 20-year-old man, who was not identified at the time of the crime, was released on $100,000 bail on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. He was taken into custody after a brief pursuit around 3:45pm on Sunday.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 3700 block of East Shelby Drive for a report of a carjacking in which a blue Nissan Maxima was taken.

Investigators investigated the carjacking and determined the suspect may be involved in four other crimes.
One of the crimes, also on East Shelby Drive, was a shooting that left one man dead. Another shot was fired on Pilot Drive, but no injuries were reported. There was also a shooting incident at Commerce Circle, where a boy and two women were shot to death, one in critical condition and the other in minor condition.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing all black clothing, a black ski mask and purple shoes. He is also believed to have been in a white 2016 Dodge Charger that was taken during a carjacking on South Perkins Road.

With the help of local, state and federal law enforcement and community members, the 20-year-old man was arrested around 3:45 p.m.
“My heart breaks for the victim’s family and those affected by these senseless acts of violence,” said Chief “CJ” Davis. “The hard work and quick action of the Memphis Police Department undoubtedly prevented additional incidents.”
