Tennessee teachers may soon carry guns, thanks to lawmakers who ignored desperate, theatrical stunts from activists

The Tennessee General Assembly has passed a bill that would allow teachers to carry concealed weapons under certain conditions, despite angry theatrics from activists.

On Tuesday, hundreds of anti-gun radicals stepped up their efforts to block gun rights legislation. They stormed the Capitol in Nashville carrying placards and chanting uninspired slogans such as “Blood on our hands!” “Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! Republicans have got to go!”

Famous Democratic Demagogue Nation Congressman Justin PearsonHe has already been expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives once for sabotage, and he spoke in the middle of the group in the tone of a Southern preacher, exclaiming, “This is what democracy looks like!”

Activists, most of them believed to be women, then staged a protest known as a “die-in,” in which participants fell en masse to the floor and pretended to be dead. They apparently believe that the demonstrations mirrored the carnage of school shootings, but the public and law enforcement who were in the building that day may have rather enjoyed a brief moment of calm. is high.

The activists’ cries then reached a high-pitched sound as the measurements ended. SB1325, easily passed the House by a vote of 68-28. Four Republicans joined all 24 Democrats. vote against invoice. Three additional Republicans abstained.

“Vote them out!” one woman shrieked as security removed her and another person from the gallery. “Vote them out!”

The bill will now go to Republican Gov. Bill Lee’s desk. If he signs it or does nothing, it will become law. The only way to prevent a bill from taking effect is to veto it, but he has not vetoed any legislation since taking office in 2019.

Therefore, this bill will almost certainly become state law soon. But co-sponsor Republican state Sen. Paul Bailey clarified that the bill would not force “teachers and staff” to carry weapons. It “just gives them a choice,” he says.

The bill also imposes several conditions on teachers and employees interested in being armed on campus. Below is a summary of those conditions. CNN:

• Obtain an enhanced carry permit.

• Obtain written permission from the superintendent, principal, and appropriate law enforcement agency head.

• Complete 40 hours of basic school police training and 40 hours of school police-specific Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission-approved training annually at the educator’s expense.

• Complete a background check.

• Obtain a psychological evaluation conducted by a Tennessee licensed health care provider.

As CNN noted, the bill was passed just over a year after the horrific shooting that killed six Christians (three adults and three children) at Nashville’s Covenant School. However, CNN ignored reports that the murderer was identified as transgender, and simply described the gunman as a “28-year-old former student.”

CNN also falsely claimed that “gun violence is the leading killer of children in the United States,” having already claimed the lives of 436 children this year. Abortion is by far the leading cause of child death in America.according to NPRIn 2023 alone, more than 1 million children in the United States died from abortion.
