The French tennis player received a horrific death threat before a match at Thionville Challenger on Tuesday.
Arthur Boukier, the world's No. 219th male player, posted a message he received on Instagram before facing German tennis player Florian Broska on the ATP Challenger Tour.
“You're playing against Florian Broska, rank 522 rank is ranked 522, who you've never won in the first round. You're betting 2000 euros in two sets, so I hope you make an effort to bring him in two sets,” a message written in French, Translation by Tennis World.
“I swear, if you lose, I will never forgive you. Even if it means going to prison, I will track you and your family only to hurt you. If I lose 2000 euros, my life is no longer meaningful as I will go out on the streets. I can spend my days in prison as well.
“I swear to my mother's life that I will come after you. Now I'm at the courthouse in Thionville, where I play exactly 15:20. Take care. These are no threats to the sky. Good luck.”
In his post, Bouquer tagged ATP Tours, ITF and Thionville Tournaments.

The Governing Body trio have not yet addressed the incident.
Bouquier gwind the match in two sets, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the second round of the tournament.
