Terrifying video: 9-year-old boy relaxes in his home before dinner when drive-by bullets pierce wall, fly inside

Video shows the moment a drive-by bullet ripped through the wall of a Fort Worth apartment earlier this month, terrorizing a 9-year-old boy who had just been relaxing before dinner.

Provided home security video KXAS-TV Errol Hill, dated May 1, shows kids doing the same thing many kids do in the evening: just sitting on the couch with their dog nearby.

“I thought it was just fireworks, but then I heard a scream and looked outside.”

Police said the video suddenly shows bullets flying from the road into the living room, causing Errol to duck for cover and run to find his mother.

“It came through the wall,” Errol told KXAS. “I thought it was fireworks, but then I heard a scream and looked outside.”

KXAS said six people were injured in the drive-by shooting outside the Miramar Apartments near 3000 Las Vegas Trail, and four of the victims were children.

Errol’s mother, Maryjane Gonzalez, told police she first made sure her son was okay and then “came out here…to see where exactly he was shot. Then I heard the whole family downstairs screaming.” ”

Gonzalez, a medical assistant, ran outside and tried to stop the bleeding on multiple victims. One of them was only 3 years old, according to KXAS.

“That was really tough for me. I saw her go in and out of consciousness,” Gonzalez told the station, adding, “I never saw a person get shot, let alone a child. No,” he added.

KXAS said first responders arrived and took the victim to safety, but as police continued to investigate the shooting, Gonzalez told the department that he and his family were “traumatized.” “I’m working on it,” he said.

“It changed our lives forever,” the mother of three told KXAS.

To make matters worse, Gonzalez noted that Errol now lives in constant fear of being involved in another shooting, according to the department.

KXAS reported that Gonzalez signed a new lease for her Miramar apartment weeks before the shooting, but she no longer believes the Las Vegas Trail area is safe for her children and is now trying to move. It is said that there is.she Set up a GoFundMe page The department said it hopes the additional funding will help families relocate.

“It’s a safer place, a place where kids can go outside and play,” Gonzalez told KXAS. “Because they can’t go out and play without worrying about getting shot. Will we be the next victims of the Las Vegas Trail?”

The department added that anyone with information about the shooting can contact the Fort Worth Police Department anonymously at 817-392-4222.
