Baptisms at Lakepointe Church Reach 882
On September 27, Lakepointe Church reported that 882 baptisms occurred across its various campuses in the Dallas, Texas area. Senior pastor Josh Howerton announced that these individuals chose to follow Jesus Christ, celebrating the significant changes in their lives within the congregation spanning eight locations.
In a post on social media, the church shared, “There are few things more powerful than watching someone publicly say, ‘My life belongs to Jesus.’ This weekend, 882 people were baptized across Lakepointe Church.”
Howerton emphasized the meaningful stories behind these numbers, saying, “That number represents real people with real stories. They’ve faced addiction, broken relationships, doubts, losses, and even successes that left them feeling empty. Now, they stand in the water proclaiming that JESUS has changed everything and HE IS WHO HE SAYS HE IS. Never stop praying for one more to know Christ!”
After the event, Howerton expressed his feelings in a social media update, noting, “Almost 900 people baptized today at Lakepointe. Body tired, heart full, sweaty eyes. Kite caught in a hurricane of grace.” He also shared an image of a family in the baptismal waters, recounting their touching story.
“Dad (81 years old) getting baptized by his son who prayed for around 35 years for his salvation today at Lakepointe. Three generations in the water. If they’re still breathing, there’s still hope,” he remarked.
The church invited attendees to share their experiences on social media. One woman shared that she, her husband, and their two children were part of the baptismal event.
Reflecting on their journey, she said, “Just a year ago we were in a completely different place in our lives, battling illnesses, addictions, and a broken marriage. In February this year, I underwent my 11th surgery and found myself crying out for God to take over. I opened my Bible and started watching Christian podcasts like ‘the deep end.’ Fast forward seven months later, we have been healthier and happier than ever, committing every aspect of our lives to Christ! All the glory GOES TO GOD! Thanks for being God’s loyal servants, Lakepointe!”
Earlier this year, in March, more than 50 unmarried couples were married in a collective ceremony at Lakepointe Church after Howerton encouraged them to embrace Jesus Christ and discussed God’s purpose for marriage.
