Texas daycare worker accused of kicking toddlers over 100 times

A child care worker in Texas has been arrested on suspicion of kicking at least six children in her care more than 100 times.

Investigators first received a tip that Katherine Gujesica was being abused by one of the victim's parents.

Father was informed of the abuse at Punkin Doodles Day Care in Lindale by another staff member who watched the video of some of the incidents.

Detectives with the Smith County Sheriff's Office are still reviewing surveillance footage from the daycare center as they prepare to file charges against Gujesica, 44.

The sheriff claimed that Gujesica was filmed kicking six children 134 times.

Gujesica has been in custody since October 30, when she was arrested on six charges of wounding a child with intent to cause bodily harm.

The attacks took place over several months from July to October.

In one part of the video, Gushica kicks a defenseless 2-year-old boy in the lower back as he lies on the floor.

One toddler was dragged out of bed during a nap and dragged by the arm to the changing table.

She is also accused of punishing some young children by standing on them.

Gushika first started working at a daycare in September 2023.

She was fired after the daycare owner learned of the abuse. The nursery has since been sold to new owners who are planning to rebrand the business.
