Tragic Loss of 8-Year-Old Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal

The parents of 8-year-old Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal shared with Fox News Digital on Friday that the Texas Rangers have confirmed she was one of the girls who lost her life in the recent floods in the Texas Hill Country.

Describing Kellyanne as “the glowing light of this world,” her family expressed their grief over her disappearance on July 4th.

In a heartfelt statement to Fox News Digital, they wrote, “She was a kind, fearless, silly, caring, and loving friend.” They also noted her “deep belief in Jesus,” comforting themselves with the thought that she is now “in heaven with our Lord and Savior.”

Camp Mystic, a private Christian retreat for girls, reported that 27 girls are missing after the Guadalupe River flooded, affecting the campsite. Sadly, they are all considered presumed dead, and search efforts continue through the remains of the camp.

“She was taken from us too early, but thank God for the eight magical years we shared with her,” the family wrote. They expressed gratitude for the support and prayers they’ve received during this challenging time, appreciating the efforts of those involved in search and rescue.

As a result of the tragic flooding, officials report that at least 119 people have lost their lives, while around 176 remain unaccounted for.

In Kellyanne’s memory, her family has created the Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal Memorial Foundation, aimed at supporting charitable causes close to her heart. This fund is affiliated with the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a tax-exempt organization.

The family continues to call for prayers for all affected by this devastating event.
