Two Texas homeowners were horrified when a mysterious figure wearing a satanic mask showed up outside their front door holding a sign with a Bible verse depicting the apocalypse.
Residents captured doorbell footage of an unannounced visitor standing outside their home in Carrollton, a suburb just north of Dallas, around 8 p.m. Saturday. According to CBS.
The disturbing video shows a person wearing all black, wearing a red mask with horns and holding a sign that appears to be made of cardboard.
The sign reads “Revelation 20:1-15.”
The Bible passage depicts Revelation in which believers go to heaven and non-believers are thrown into the lake of fire. According to Biblia.
“I'm scared,” the homeowner told the outlet. “I'm scared to leave the house. I'm scared to stay in the house.”
“It's the end of an era,” she added. “Judgment Day is finally here. I was shocked. I couldn't think of anything.”
The stranger rang the doorbell and stood a few meters away from the front door, seemingly waiting for someone to answer.
After waiting a few seconds, the person knocked on the door.
When no one responded, the masked person walked behind the house and stood in the driveway behind the same house holding a sign.
The homeowner told the outlet she was out to dinner with her husband and stopped to buy Powerball tickets when the creepy encounter occurred.
carrollton police department told WFAA The masked individual had not been seen at other facilities in the area and had not committed a crime.
Police are monitoring the area in case something like this happens again.
“We encourage residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police,” a Carrollton Police Department spokesperson said.
Neighbors told local media they remain on guard because they don't know whether the person behind the mask was playing a prank or trying to hint at something darker.
“We pretty much know each other around here and everyone is very nice,” neighbor Scott Giern told the magazine.
