Texas ICE shooting suspects linked to a hidden far-left anarchist group established during the violent 2020 BLM protests

A group that filmed the Texas Immigration Detention Center last month was arrested and is reportedly associated with a clandestine network of far-left “anti-fascists” who have training in self-defense and firearms.

On July 4th, a former US Marine Reserve and ten others were involved in a shooting incident outside Alvarado’s Prairiland Detention Center, resulting in one officer being shot in the head.

The details of the attacks have unveiled connections some suspects have with a left-wing extremist faction based in Dallas, as reported by a news outlet.

It’s been noted that some individuals were trained by someone named Benjamin Hanil, a former reserve soldier accused of attempted murder in relation to the incident.

Hanil reportedly conducts weekly sessions aimed at teaching people close combat techniques and how to handle serious firefights.

Cory Lyon, a libertarian who attended a few of these training sessions, mentioned, “Many of those showing up were young, naive leftists. They were scared, and Ben was providing them with a way to confront that fear.”

The group, which includes some transgender activists, is thought to have formed during the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. Initially focused on social justice issues, their focus has shifted toward immigration enforcement.

It remains unclear how many of the assault suspects are part of this anti-fascist network.

After a week-long search, Hanil was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder of a federal agent, in addition to several firearm-related charges linked to the violent crime. He is also accused of purchasing four weapons tied to the attack.

Among the ten others arrested, two—Autumn Hill and Megan Morris—are transgender. All faced multiple charges, including attempted murder of federal officers, use of firearms in connection with violent crimes, and obstruction of justice to hide evidence.
