The Texan on the ATV was a major issue for Tesla owners who allegedly plunged their four-wheeled vehicles into multiple cars during unprovoked hit and ramp up on Tuesday.
Demarqeyun Marquize Cox was arrested after one of his alleged attacks was recorded by Tesla, a deliberate encounter, announced by police in Texalcana, Texas.
The 33-year-old allegedly found an electric car sitting in the parking lot of a Chinese buffet at Golden Palace while the owner was having lunch in the restaurant.
According to a video obtained by KTBS, Cox loaded it into the back and plunged straight into the side of the red Tesla.
The 5-foot-2, 449-pound driver left significant damage to the front driver's side door, owner Virita Carstaffin told the outlet.
Caldstafin, who was warned of the attack by a phone notification, said he had to pay more than $1,000 to replace the entire door.
Police were called to Cox's runaway area after the second Tesla was damaged in nearby Lowes, according to the Texalcana Police Department.
The four-wheeled threat was stopped by officers more than a mile south of Golden Palace as officers recognized Cox from a Chinese buffet video.
Cox allegedly claimed to be another person and provided a false name during his initial interrogation with police.
The officer did not fall into a cheeky attitude and arrested the man.
“Based on what they saw on the video, they knew because of the fact that he hit the first Tesla,” Texalcana Police Public Information Officer Sean Vaughn told the outlet.
He was charged with felony crime mischief, causing damages between $2,500 and $30,000 and failed to identify him, police said.
A third damaged Tesla was reported after his arrest.
The suspect, which has not yet been decided, carved “Erons” onto the sides of the other two cars.
Cox is charged with damaging the first car, but authorities said an investigation is underway and could potentially be charged more later.
He is being held at two state judicial centers on $105,000 bonds, according to prison records seen by the post office.
Cox's stunt is the latest violent attack on an Elon Musk-owned company, following the billionaire work within the Trump administration.
Several arsonists have been accused of setting the dealer's electric vehicle on fire, while others have tainted the car with anti-Trump graffiti and anti-Semitic art.
US Attorney General Pam Bondy has charged three instigators with “domestic terrorism” on suspicion of crime.
Adam Matthew Lansky of Oregon, Lucy Grace Nelson of Colorado and Daniel Clark Pound of South Carolina are all in prison for up to 20 years of separate attacks on Tesla vehicles and buildings, Bondy announced on March 20.
