Two Vidor, Texas, police officers narrowly rescued a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old child from a fire in their home on Tuesday.
Officers were first on scene after receiving reports of a fire at a home at 12 Pin Oak Street shortly before 2 a.m. Reported On Thursday.
At the scene, the boys' mother told Officers Michael Stevenson and Ashton Moss that the two young boys were locked in a bedroom in the mobile home.
Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll said the fire had fully engulfed the home, but officers did not hesitate to rescue the children from extreme danger.
Stevenson and Moss quickly removed the air conditioner from the window and helped the children get to safety.
“Less than a minute after officers removed the children from the burning home, the room was engulfed in flames shooting out of the windows,” Carroll said in a 12 News Now article.
