Last week, Texas authorities took action against a community college professor in the Dallas area, who faced accusations of sending explicit photos and messages to someone he believed was a 14-year-old boy.
Aaron Wood, aged 34, had been teaching drama at North Central Texas College (NCTC) for two years. Reportedly, he communicated via Snapchat with an undercover officer from Florida on May 22.
Wood was arrested on Friday by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with solicitation of a minor using a computer, according to official records.
The college confirmed his arrest and stated that he was no longer employed as of the following Monday.
NCTC also clarified that the alleged incident did not involve any students or staff connected to the college. They stated, “To our knowledge, the alleged offense does not involve NCTC, its students or staff,” adding that Wood had no contact with anyone at the college since his arrest on September 25, 2026.
According to the arrest affidavit, Wood had been chatting on Snapchat with an undercover officer from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, as reported by FOX 4 Dallas. He mentioned during their conversation that he teaches students around the same age as the person he thought he was talking to.
Wood allegedly expressed some nervousness but showed interest in continuing the conversation. The affidavit indicates he sent explicit images and asked the undercover officer to share theirs as well.
Investigators traced Wood using the IP address linked to the conversation, which led them to an apartment in Denton.
The affidavit also revealed that there was probable cause to charge Wood with transmitting harmful material to minors and unlawfully using a two-way communication device, as reported by FOX 4.
While the allegations did not involve any NCTC students, the college underscored that the safety of its students and staff is paramount.
Fox News Digital has requested further details from NCTC.
