Texas Rangers confirm identity of 8-year-old girl from Camp Mystic who died in floods

Tragic Flooding Incident Claims Life of 8-Year-Old

The parents of 8-year-old Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal have confirmed, through Fox News Digital, that the Texas Rangers identified her as one of the young girls lost in the devastating floods of Texas Hill Country.

The Lytal family shared that Kellyanne, who went missing on July 4, was “the glowing light of this world.” They described her as “kind,” “caring,” and even a little “fearless” in their heartfelt statement.

They expressed comfort, stating she had a strong belief in Jesus, and added, “It’s comforting to know she’s in heaven with our Lord and Savior.”

Camp Mystic, a private Christian retreat for girls, reported that following the flooding of the Guadalupe River, 27 girls were unaccounted for. Sadly, they are all presumed dead, and search efforts are ongoing.

Despite the heartbreak, the Lytal family emphasized their gratitude for the eight wonderful years they had with Kellyanne. They extended their thanks to those supporting the ongoing search and rescue efforts, recognizing the outpouring of prayers and support during this challenging time.

Current reports indicate that at least 119 lives were lost in the floods, with an alarming 176 still missing.

In memory of Kellyanne, her family has established the Kelly Anne Elizabeth Rittal Memorial Foundation, aimed at supporting charities that were important to her. This memorial is part of the Greater Houston Community Foundation, which operates as a tax-free entity.

The Lytal family continues to request prayers for all touched by this tragic event.
