A new player has emerged as the leading casual dining restaurant in the US.
Recent data from Technomic reveals that Texas Roadhouse now holds the top spot among the 500 largest restaurant chains based on overall sales.
Previously, Olive Garden held this position since 2018, but it has been surpassed by the Louisville, Kentucky-based steakhouse chain.
Among America’s favorite steakhouses, two restaurants from each of nine states stand out.
According to Technomic, Texas Roadhouse saw a significant sales increase of 14.7%, reaching $5.5 billion last year, even though it slightly dipped by 0.8% to $5.2 billion in 2024.
In an effort to boost customer visits, Olive Garden introduced promotional deals, including a $6 takeaway meal along with unlimited soups, salads, and breadsticks.
In contrast, Texas Roadhouse opened 26 new locations, whereas the Florida-based Olive Garden, owned by Darden Restaurant, added 15 new restaurants in 2024.
McDonald’s continues to be the most frequently searched fast food restaurant on Google, according to a report.
Fox News Digital reached out to both Texas Roadhouse and Olive Garden for their comments.
