Texas State Senator Angela Paxton, the estranged wife of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, has announced her intention to vote Republican across the board. In her view, a general election is less about individual candidates and more about ensuring that the entire party succeeds together.
In a video ad, Paxton, who filed for divorce from her husband in July 2025 citing “adultery” as a reason, stressed that Republicans must “hold every Republican seat” to avoid jeopardizing Texas’s future by letting the opposition take control.
Breitbart News noted that the Paxtons have been married for thirty-eight years but have been living separately since June 2024. In her divorce petition, Paxton mentioned “adultery” as the reason, and through social media, she expressed, “But, in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”
“I’m Texas Senator Angela Paxton,” she stated in the video. “People have been asking me about my views on this election, and it turns out I do have some thoughts. Let’s address the elephant in the room. In a general election, it’s not so much about individual players on the team; it’s really about getting the whole team across the finish line.”
Paxton further explained, “If we don’t hold every Republican seat, we could be handing the future of Texas to the other team. That’s why I’m voting for the Republican ticket on November 3rd. Let’s stick together.”
The video advertisement, where Paxton declared her support for the Republican ticket, is backed by Texas PAC, a super PAC connected to Senate Republican leadership, according to the Texas Tribune.
Before this advertisement, she had reportedly conveyed a similar message to a group of conservative women in private.
Paxton’s message emerges amid reports that Republicans in Texas have been spending about $7.7 million each day, particularly as Ken Paxton campaigns against Democrat James Talarico in the Texas U.S. Senate race.
Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by Newsweek revealed that a Republican super PAC has invested $131 million in just 17 days to support Ken Paxton’s campaign.
