Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian recently revealed some personal news: he and his wife, L’Oreal, are going their separate ways.
In a joint statement, Steve and L’Oreal said the separation was amicable, and that despite their decision to file for divorce, the soon-to-be former couple remain “the best of friends.”
“After many heartfelt discussions, we have amicably separated and have decided to jointly file for divorce. statement “We aim to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for all the love and support we’ve shared on our journey together.”

The Sarkissians also cited the demands of their respective careers. L’Oreal works as a professional wardrobe stylist; The Houston Chronicle reported..
“We’re both focused on our careers, which has made it difficult to prioritize time for one another. This move will allow us to have the time and space we need professionally, while continuing to support each other personally.”

They ended their statement by thanking their supporters and asking for understanding and privacy.
“We appreciate the love and encouragement we have received and ask for your understanding and privacy during this transition as we embark on a new chapter in our lives.”

Steve and L’Oreal married in 2020. Steve was the offensive coordinator under Nick Saban at the University of Alabama at the time. The couple moved to Austin after Sarkisian was named head coach at the University of Texas in 2021. L’Oreal regularly showed up to Longhorns football games over the past few years to cheer on Sarkisian and the team.
L’Oreal attended North Carolina A&T University where he was a standout track and field athlete and became an assistant coach at the University of Southern California in 2013. Sarkisian returned to USC as the Trojans’ head football coach ahead of the 2014 season.

Texas finished the season with a 5-7 record under Sarkisian in 2021. However, the team improved in 2022, finishing the season with eight wins.
Coach Sarkisian continues to prepare the Longhorns for their inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference.

The Longhorns advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals and finished No. 2 in this year’s SEC preseason poll, while the Georgia Bulldogs earned the top spot in the conference’s preseason rankings.
