A pair of burglary suspects suspected of stealing packages of oxtail in separate robberies this week were arrested after stealing $500 worth of meat from various Houston-area grocery stores, police said. .

Robert Stevenson, 31, and Cornelius Davis, 32, were taken into custody at the Rosenberg Police Department on Tuesday. Mr Stevenson was previously arrested in November after he and someone else were found with multiple packages of oxtail at a Food Town supermarket. fox 26 report.

On Tuesday, Officer Rosenberg stopped a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of College Station and took Stevenson and Davis into custody, police said.

“During the traffic stop, Officer Rosenberg observed numerous meat products located inside the vehicle,” police said in a statement. “A total of 18 bags of meat, including beef steaks, brisket, and pork chitterlings, valued at more than $500, were found inside the vehicle.”

Meat was stolen from the front seat of the car.

Investigators determined the meat was stolen from a Houston-area grocery store. Officers also found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, police said.

Stevenson was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Stevenson was free on $2,500 bail at the time of his arrest Tuesday, according to reports.
