The Bears are looking to trade up, and they might have one player in mind

The 2025 NFL Draft is only hours away and we still don’t see any trades in the first round. This shows the longest offseason cycle in the modern draft era, where we have never seen trade, as Joe Montana was trading just five days before the 1993 NFL Draft.

But it may be about to change.

According to Pat Leonard of New York Daily News, Chicago Bears He is about to bring the team ahead in the first round and rise from the 10th selection on Thursday night. Leonard also notes that the “six” teams before the Bears are about to return.

With Leonard sharing this report, you might think the Bears are about to reach number three. New York Giants He is currently sitting in the first round for his chance to draft Pennsylvania’s pass rush Abdul Carter. This could also be a move to move up from the bear to draft Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter Jr.

But there’s probably another player that Chicago is targeting. It talks about how much the NFL has changed in recent years.

Boise runs through Ashton Jeanti.

Connecting dots is not difficult.

According to ESPN Insider Weekend column Adam Shifter League Insider reported that he believes The bears “pray” for Boise to fall on them in 10th place.

“We have multiple personnel who believe the Bears are praying that Jeanti will slip on them on No. 10. They believe New Bears coach Ben Johnson can feature Jeanti and Dandre Swift as two duo, just as the Lions did with David Montgomery and Jameel Gibbs when Johnson is Detroit’s offensive coordinator.”

Is that the point of attachment to the plan? Las Vegas Raiders At No. 6, Jeanty to the Raiders in that spot throughout the draft cycle is one of the easiest lines to fill out in a mock draft.

But can the bear jump up and down in front of Las Vegas instead through trade? Jacksonville Jaguar To land Jeanti on No. 5?

That may be the reason for these latest rumors.

Chicago’s general manager, Ryan Paul hinted at several moves to come at a pre-draft press conference. “I think this will be a little wilder, but it’s prepared for all of the different scenarios that pop up.” On Tuesday the Poles said.

Assistant GM Ian Cunningham predicted that the first round would be “wild.”

“It can be wild, it can be wild. Sit down and watch. We’re not feeling right now.

Trade up in the first round and run back? It’s certainly wild.
