Top Amusement Parks in America Revealed
A recent survey has outlined the best amusement parks in the United States, and you might find the top choice quite interesting. TripAdvisor published its “Doing the Best is the Best” report, drawing from extensive reviews and the insights of 8 million users over the past year.
“Get ready to scream, splash, and soar into your favorite worlds at these top-rated parks,” the announcement proclaims, highlighting various amusement and water parks. And, as a standout, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has secured the number one position with an impressive rating of 4.3 out of 5.
Co-owned by the famous Dolly Parton, who has her roots in the Smoky Mountains, Dollywood encompasses over 160 acres with 50 rides. According to their website, the park boasts a museum dedicated to Parton’s legacy as well as thrilling roller coaster exhibits.
Among its attractions, Dollywood offers performances showcasing ceramic artistry, glass displays, and various local crafts. One visitor left a glowing review, sharing that despite the scorching weather, the shaded spots and free ice water made the experience enjoyable.
“They really care about their guests,” another reviewer noted. It’s worth mentioning that Dollywood has outperformed both Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Universal Park, which comes in second.
Magic Kingdom is famed for its beloved attractions, like Space Mountain and Cinderella Castle. One might meet characters or enjoy the evening fireworks while soaking in the magical atmosphere, making it, well, enchanting, I suppose.
In third place is Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania, a family-run park since 1926, and it stands out as America’s largest free-admission amusement park. Visitors can enjoy various rides, swimming, camping, and even a golf course.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios in fourth showcases thrilling rides like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, while Universal Adventure Island in Orlando rounds out the top five with its superhero themes and rides based on the beloved Harry Potter series.
So, whether you’re looking for thrills or simply some family fun, this list is quite diverse. I think it’s safe to say there’s something for everyone at these parks!
