The back studio The Chosen Ones The company announced an ambitious slate of upcoming projects on Friday, including a series based on the Book of Acts and an animated series about a young girl who meets Jesus in first-century Capernaum. With five upcoming projects announced in total, it's an impressive feat that highlights The Chosen's global reach and significant growth since its launch in 2019. Based on the Bible, the series tells the story of Jesus and his disciples and has garnered a loyal following during the pandemic.
The Chosen season 5 will premiere in 2025, with seasons 6 and 7 launching in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Season 5 will retell the story of Jesus during Holy Week, including the Last Supper, while season 6 will focus on the Crucifixion and season 7 will climax with the Resurrection.
The upcoming projects were announced at the fan-facing ChosenCon event in Orlando, Florida. The projects include:
–A series based on the Book of Acts.
–A three-season series on Moses.
— A limited series about Joseph's life.
— The chosen adventure “The 14-episode animated series is set in Capernaum and follows 9-year-old Abby and her friend Joshua as they encounter Jesus around 30 A.D. The synopsis describes Abby as a curious girl who “never found the answers she was looking for” — that is, until she meets Jesus. Emmy Award-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser (Blackbird), Emmy-nominated actress Yvonne Orji (anxiety), Grammy-nominated singer Jordin Sparks, and The Chosen Ones: Jonathan Rumi, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, Joey Vahedi, Yasmin Al Bustami, Brandon Potter, George Zantis.
— Bear Grylls and the Chosen One of the Wildis a six-episode unscripted series in which an adventurer and former British Special Forces member will “venture into the wild” with the cast. The Chosen Ones “Exploring their personal stories and digging deep into their own perspectives on the series and the characters they play.” Grylls is known for the hit series. Man vs. Wild. Chosen by the Wild is a collaboration between The Natural Studios and 5&2 Studios.
