Brad Pitt’s Relationship with His Children Remains Tense

A recent report reveals that Brad Pitt continues to have a strained relationship with his children, whom he shares with Angelina Jolie.

Despite making “some effort to reconnect,” the actor is still largely estranged from most of his kids. It was noted that Pitt, 61, carries “a deep emotional weight” regarding his family situation.

While he reportedly sees twins Knox and Vivienne, 16, regularly, his interactions with his older children—Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, and Shiloh, 19—are more limited and described as “tense.”

Insiders claim that Pitt’s attempts to reconnect with his remaining children have been minimal. Interestingly, both Pitt and Jolie’s representatives haven’t commented on the ongoing relationship issues.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, finalized their divorce in December 2024, years after becoming legally single in 2019.

Pitt has expressed mixed feelings about the renewal of their legal status. When asked if he felt “relief,” he downplayed its significance, stating it wasn’t a “major” issue.

Recently, he shared that he has made mistakes and yet feels he has learned significantly from his experiences.

On her end, Jolie has mentioned how her children have been a saving grace throughout the emotional turmoil. In a 2023 interview, she reflected, “The kids saved me,” indicating she would have struggled more without them.

The actress also noted they all have “a lot to do” when it comes to navigating the effects of their parents’ separation.

While Jolie’s children don’t often discuss Pitt, they haven’t gone unnoticed in media narratives, especially regarding their evolving identities. In fact, Maddox, when discussing his relationship with Pitt, stated, “No matter what happens.” Recently, on Shiloh’s 18th birthday, she chose to drop Pitt’s surname, officially being recognized as “Shi Jolie.”

There have also been reports of Vivienne and Zahara opting to keep Jolie’s last name in various contexts. Meanwhile, rumors have surfaced about Pitt wanting to reconnect with his children as he reflects on aging and his own life.
