‘The Daily Show’ Launches Voter Registration, Animal Adoption Initiative

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show It plans to launch a voter registration effort that could potentially connect voters with their adopted pets.

The left-leaning talk show, which recently welcomed Jon Stewart as part-time host, is partnering with HeadCount and various animal protection organizations across the country for a new initiative called “InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy,” which will include a series of events in New York, Milwaukee and Chicago “where fans can meet adorable fur babies up for adoption and, at the same time, register to vote in 2024,” according to the show. The Wrap.

The effort will kick off in New York City on Friday, June 21 at Animal Haven before traveling elsewhere. The next stop will be the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on July 14 in partnership with the Milwaukee Area Livestock Control Committee, followed by the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on August 18, where they will work with PAWS Chicago.

In addition to being able to register to vote and find homes for animals, the three events will feature free giveaways, dog souvenirs, dog photo opportunities, special guests and more.

Given that host Jon Stewart is a dog lover, it may not be surprising that the show is committed to finding homes for animals. In February, he lost his beloved dog Dipper, who he rescued from an animal shelter in New York City. In memory of the puppy who appeared on the show, Stewart struggled to hold back tears. He recalls that the animal came with him to the taping of “The Daily Show” every day.

As reported by Breitbart News, Jon Stewart recently made headlines when he slammed companies for pandering to the LGBTQ community during Pride Month.

“Of course, Pride Month is a time when corporations come together to financially exploit gay people’s decades-long fight for acceptance and equality,” he said. “‘Hey, remember that time you got fired from your bank for being outed as gay? Yep, I remember Burger King. The burger with the two bottom buns!'”
