The day after Election Day, comedian and former late-night TV host Jay Leno claimed Tuesday's election of President Donald Trump was “a great day for democracy.”
He appeared on the CBS daytime show on Wednesday. The Talkthe 74-year-old star and famous car collector was satisfied the election was “fair and honest”.
“The good thing about this election is that it was fair and honest,” the former says. tonight show said the host.
While claiming he's not actually a fan of President Trump, he added, “But okay, it's the President of the United States. Let's all get together, thank you.”
He went on to say he was glad the election was not close and was “conducted professionally” to avoid any post-election questions that arose in 2020.
“I say everyone was honest. So this is a great day for democracy,” he said of Tuesday's results.
Leno added that the Today late-night host “picks sides” and is not an equal opportunity jokester.
“Well, that was different. In my day, you made fun of both sides. You'd get angry letters from both sides. Now you have to take sides, but yeah, it's It’s a little different,” he said.
Naturally, Leno received the angry “letter” as a leftist furious at Trump's election to a second term. attacked on social media after appearing on The Talk, daily mail Reported.
In fact, Leno was certainly not a fan of Trump. Ahead of the election, the comedian claimed in January that America “could do better” than Trump.
