The experts betrayed us — and we responded like frightened children

The Brownstone Institute and its courageous leader, Jeffrey Tucker, have been a beacon of light amidst the madness of COVID-19. Brownstone will publish Thomas Harrington’s excellent new book, Rebellion of the Experts: Coronavirus and the Entitled Class.

If you have come to believe or suspect that at the heart of the madness of the pandemic is a betrayal by an entitled class, then what has been done to the American people amounts to treason. If you’ve ever considered the possibility, or just want to, to make sense of what we’ve all been through lately, this book is for you.

We must not turn our backs on what has been done to us. If I do that, I’m sure the same thing will happen again, and it will be even worse next time.

Harrington, while a member of the entitled class of which he is professor emeritus, is not one of the promoters of the hysterical abandonment of truth, justice, and the American way due to COVID-19. He survived as a calm observer of hysteria. His book is a record of his thoughtful analysis of what is happening, written and published in real time.

Each section is short and to the point. The first date is March 22, 2020. The last date is November 5, 2022. Here is a sample title: “The Merchants of Moral Panic.” “We let them penetrate deep into our heads and communal lives.” “The Treatment of Noncompliance: Compliance” by Eric Adams; “Health Officials Allow Big Pharma to Fraud the Government.” “Doctors who live in fear and spread it to others.”

Read Harrington’s short, well-written, and thoughtful essay to see how much America has changed. He might convince you that the American people have been conditioned for quite some time to react the way they do. He identifies people who are doing conditioning and how they are doing it. As all-too-familiar criminals like Anthony Fauci, Bill Gates, and Neil Ferguson get their due, Harrington examines the political and social changes that made their actions possible.

He examines the double revelation. Many of us are surprised to learn that America is clearly not working the way we think it is, and we are also surprised by the actions of many of our fellow citizens. The elites who exercise government power and control the flow of information have demonstrated “the ability and desire to attack their own citizens with well-organized and sustained information warfare campaigns.” In 2020, Big Pharma, big media, and big government launched a coordinated campaign of terror against the American people, most of whom, in Harrington’s words, were “frightened, long-abused children. ” showed a reaction.

What happened to America, our ruling elite, and our fellow countrymen that made this possible? Harrington answers his question with one of his own.

If the epidemics of 1918, 1957, and 1967-1968 didn’t “change everything,” why should it this time? There simply were very large centers of power, and each Is it just that they may want to “change everything” this time because of this?

Why did so many of our neighbors become self-appointed enforcers of oppressive government policies? Harrington’s examination of these questions explores how the ruling class imposes its will on the social order. It shows deep insight into what can be done.

In The Treason of the Experts, you’ll have the chance to travel through that recent era again, this time with the help of a thoughtful guide and the benefits of what you’ve learned from your experiences.

As citizens, we have a duty to our country to make this journey. The same people who implemented and promoted the totalitarian measures for which the coronavirus provided the pretext and opportunity are using the same tactics to avoid responsibility for what they have done. If we are to have any hope of undoing the harm or preventing it from happening again, we need to remember and understand what was done to us.

We must not turn our backs on what has been done to us. If I do that, I’m sure the same thing will happen again, and it will be even worse next time.

You may also find, like me, that you are obligated to make this journey for the most personal of reasons. Like victims of PTSD, we need to confront what was done to us, absorb it, and reflect on how well or poorly we rose to the challenge. Harrington provides us with a unique opportunity to learn about our country, our fellow citizens, and ourselves. Consider taking him up on his generous offer.
