The Golden Bachelor Season 2: Women Tell All Highlights
The Women Tell All special for Season 2 of Golden Bachelor aired on October 29th. While Mel Owens managed to handle the reunion with her 15 ex-girlfriends relatively well, 64-year-old yoga instructor Nicole Kate faced some challenges.
Throughout the season, Nicole’s words and actions often rubbed contestants and viewers the wrong way. Her most controversial moment occurred in the fourth episode when she expressed her intention to use the show as a springboard for an influencer career. “I told myself I’m not dating Mel, I’m dating America,” she explained. “This exposure is something else, and if they market it right, we could gain some serious recognition,” she added, somewhat dismissively of the previous contestants’ looks.
Host Jesse Palmer challenged Nicole during the Women Tell All segment, asking if she had any regrets. Surprisingly, Nicole said no. “I came on this show to find love and meet Mel, but also to empower women. I believe it’s possible to find love and carve out your purpose at the same time,” she claimed.
Debbie Sievers, who finished third in Mel’s selection, didn’t hold back in reacting to Nicole’s statement. “It’s really hard to hear that… You failed to empower us. You ended relationships. Saying the previous women weren’t attractive? That you were really here to be an influencer? I’m disappointed. If you want to be liked as an influencer, you can’t hurt people,” Debbie explained.
As Debbie voiced her frustrations, the audience could be seen nodding in agreement, including former contestants Kathy Swartz and Susan Knowles. Other Season 2 participants echoed similar feelings. Just as the tension built, Carol Freeman interrupted to change the subject. Nicole responded with a diplomatic, “Thank you. I love you all, let’s try harder,” and handed it back to Jesse.
In addition to the heated discussions, the episode saw the women revisiting the much-talked-about lemon bar drama, where Nicole claimed she took charge of baking duties. There was a moment when she tearfully spoke to Mel late one night, emphasizing her emotions.
