NEW ORLEANS – Goodbye Week for the Eagles greeted us more on future occasions.
A 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers in week 4 dropped the Eagles 2-2.
In that game, their supposedly bragging defense allowed for 445 yards and a first down of 29.
Next came the timing bi and group therapy sessions led by well-traveled defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in his first season with the Eagles.
“When he sat us as a group and said it really clicked for a lot of people. Goodbye, we'll be back from the week and get ready to dial in because we have to go run. Please,” said veteran cornerback Darius Slay. “He brought all the fixes and everything and said that if we just buy, we can see what it does.”
That worked.
Since then, 15 of 16 games winners have not allowed more than 23 points in games up to week 16.
Happy Eagles db Glenn
Recently hired Jets head coach Ahlong Wren trains Eagles safety CJ Gardner Johnson in high school and is a defensive back coach when drafting him into saints in 2019, and takes him to the Lions as a free agent. I was a defensive coordinator who helped me out in 2023.
“He coached me hard and helped me learn the system,” Gardner Johnson said. “I'm grateful for the opportunity he has given me. I'm happy for him that he got the job. He'll demand the player to the fullest.”
Former Saints draft pick Eagles linebacker Zach Boun also shared the facility with Glenn for a season.
“It's a really smart football spirit,” Boun said. “He led the way. The players' coach.”
Strahan: Reid a Prankster
There's no need to remind former Giants great Michael Strahan that Andy Reed is the Eagles head coach long before he became the Chiefs head coach.
“Andy coached me several times in the Pro Bowl,” said Strahan, the NFL, a Fox analyst. There will be a lot of Eagles crap among them. ”
Eagles O-Line has another level
Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland has already overseen one of the best front fives in the game and said he believes the line will be even better.
“I don't want to sound like 'Debbie Downer', but this line isn't over yet,” Stiutland said. “They did a lot of good things, but there's still room for improvement and it's fun.”
Coby Out, Moore is suspicious
The Eagles ruled out WR Britin Coby (neck) and listed OL Nick Gates (gro diameter), De Brandon Graham (elbow) and Te Usoma (abdomen) as suspicious.
WR Devonta Smith (Hamstring) was actually limited. DL Jalen Carter was not listed despite his lack of obligation this week due to illness.
The Chiefs listed Wr Skyy Moore (abdomen) as suspicious.
