Part of my job is to let you know where we’re heading and how fast we’re going there. Let me introduce you to a very concerning 3-mile metric.
Last week on my radio show, I said that Soros Fund Management, run by billionaire George Soros and his son Alex, was trying to take control of Audacity. Audacy is the second largest broadcaster in America. Only iHeartRadio has more.
The left is trying to take control of the entire industry through public-private partnerships, but they will succeed because our billionaires will do nothing.
iHeart Radio has the Premiere Radio network. I have worked for this company in some capacity since his 1989. This company is a partner on my radio show and the company has always been very supportive. Without this company, my show would not have been heard anywhere. Thankfully, iHeart is the only station currently not under attack.
The troubles began last year when Audacy filed for bankruptcy protection with $1.9 billion in debt. Mr. Soros currently underwrites the fund, and once the bankruptcy proceedings are completed, his company will become the largest shareholder. His company buys up and dismantles radios.
Last year, Soros acquired 50 Spanish-language radio stations. Hey, isn’t that interesting? He’s now trying to buy America’s second-largest broadcast station. Audacy owns his 220 stations, including the nation’s largest Talk His news station.
George Soros has spent over $21 billion over the past few decades. He spent $1.3 billion in 2022 alone. Most of that cash was donated to left-wing causes such as Media His Matters, Planned Parenthood, and the Sunrise Movement. He’s the guy who installed radical prosecutors and radical attorneys general across the country, and now he’s buying up talk radio.
Why would you do that? Why buy so many stations? Sounds like a dying industry, right? it’s not. Approximately 80% of Americans still listen to the radio. The statistics are incredible. And now, the second-largest broadcasting station is about to fall into the hands of the Soros family.
That’s the first mile mark.
Next is Cumulus. Cumulus was formerly the ABC Radio Network and at one time was America’s largest radio network. It is now the third largest. Cumulus is facing an acquisition by a Singapore-based investor. As part of the bankruptcy process, the company applied for and received permission from the Federal Communications Commission to become “100% foreign owned.” In other words, the third-largest broadcast station in the United States is about to be acquired by a Singaporean holding company. How does this benefit America?
That’s the second mile marker. But don’t worry. It’s even better on radio.
Last week, Commissioner Brendan Carr announced that the FCC would require all broadcast stations in the U.S. to begin posting race and gender scorecards that analyze employee demographics. Activists lobbied for this because they wanted to see companies pressured to hire people based on race or gender. Courts have already twice overruled the FCC for pressuring broadcasters to make hiring decisions in violation of the Constitution.
I disagree. I don’t care about your gender. I don’t care who you sleep with. I don’t care what color you are. Not really. I want to know what’s going on inside your head. I’d like to know what you think. Can you bring something to the table that I don’t have? Can you apply your different thinking to what I’m trying to accomplish? That would be great! That’s how we hire people. And now we need to start hiring based on gender and race and whatever else we need. do not have Define a person.
Let’s give you a landmark for the last mile.
CBS News just kicked out Katherine Herridge. I worked with Herridge at FOX News. We don’t always agree on everything, but she’s definitely a very reliable journalist. She was one of 800 people, including 20 journalists, recently released. What’s the big deal? CBS cites financial pressures. But is that Herridge? new york post She says she is a “constant thorn in the side of the Biden administration.” Are real journalists no longer welcome at CBS?
Mainstream media is collapsing. When I was at the height of my time at Fox News, I said, “We have to get out of this.” Everyone thought I was crazy because everyone had worked their whole lives to get there. But I said everything would burn out. And now here I am. I also said at the time that if I survived working during the collapse of mainstream media, I would end up working in government. All of these people will be bailed out by the federal government.
I remember attending many meetings with large companies who were trying to figure out how to solve their media problems. We were doing it better than everyone else at the time, and there was no margin for error. Everything depended on me. I remember sitting in those meetings and saying to business leaders: And we can see that this isn’t going to work. ” It was all hype. Now all that hype is over and everything is falling apart. What remains of mainstream media is collapsing.
But while the war has long raged against the mainstream media, there has been silence on talk radio’s western front for quite some time. There is no attack on talk radio, except that it has been crushed by the rise of digital media. until now.
The left is trying to take control of the entire industry through public-private partnerships, and they will succeed because our billionaires will do nothing. Honest to God, billionaires who believe in America do. there is nothing To protect and protect our freedoms that they claim to love. Donald Trump is the only person I know who actually puts his money where his mouth is. Probably a handful more.
what about you? Do you want to be in the shadows? That’s fine. But it will be to your detriment.
