Investigation underway for gunman who killed United Healthcare CEO
Law enforcement officials are scrambling to find the man who killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in a “targeted attack” outside a New York City hotel yesterday morning.
Under investigation: Police are combing through surveillance footage and looking for clues left behind by the gunman, including shell casings with the words “denial,” “defense,” and “resign.” They were last seen fleeing into Central Park on electric bikes minutes after the shooting. [GMA]
Archer: In their description, police said the suspect was likely a “fair-skinned male” and mentioned his “distinctive” gray backpack. Police have not determined a motive, but Thompson's widow said she had received threats. [CNN/Reuters]
