The Mavericks, who enter the Western Conference playoffs as the fifth seed, will have a full week of rest before opening the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics on June 6. (The Celtics will have 10 days of rest after being swept by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.) This will be the Mavericks’ first Finals appearance since winning the NBA championship in 2011.
