The NBA Finals Are Set! Mavericks Clinch Berth After Absolutely Annihilating Timberwolves, Face Off Against Celtics

Mavericks! Celtics! Not a bad matchup, if I do say so myself.

The Dallas Mavericks superstar is already 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals. Luka Doncic He got off to an incredibly intense start in Game 5, scoring 20 points in the first quarter and finishing with a playoff-high 36 points in a dominating performance that saw the Mavs completely dominate the Minnesota Timberwolves. 124-103They won the conference finals in five games and qualified for the NBA Finals. Superstar Fellow Kyrie Irving Dallas also had a dominant performance, scoring a staggering 36 points. Dominant play from Irving and Doncic helped the Mavericks jump out to a staggering 29-point lead by halftime, shooting 61% from the field at that point. As the game wore on in the third quarter, the Mavericks stretched their lead to a laughable 36 points, continuing to confuse the T-Wolves and disappoint fans. That was how dominant Dallas was.

The Mavericks, who enter the Western Conference playoffs as the fifth seed, will have a full week of rest before opening the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics on June 6. (The Celtics will have 10 days of rest after being swept by the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.) This will be the Mavericks’ first Finals appearance since winning the NBA championship in 2011.

This is going to be a fun game… but it really is a shame the NBA is making us wait so long to start the game.
