Thanks to the speed at which the NFL arrives on the calendar, there will be no actual breaks until it starts after the Super Bowl. In that sense we are lucky.
Last week brought the start of the NCAA Tournament, which is synonymous with the first slump of the NFL offseason. All of the prominent free agents have happened and the NFL Draft is still a little far away. Now is the time for us to grind. This is why you lift all these weights.
Interestingly, there are still some important things that have not been taken care of yet. This is what we are here Skinny PostMichael Peterson and RJ Ochoa, do our best and we're trying to do it again.
Let's get started.
The quarterback market is now depressing

RJ:
I watched on Monday morning Tweet from Henry McKenna It appears to have five quarterbacks: Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Come Ward, Shedure Sanders, Kirk Cousins, and Kirk Cousins with the question mark. It makes sense to arrive at this conclusion.
It's true, but… boring and depressing. Literally, there are none of these players. or It is impossible to draw a connection between the two fascinating in my mind, as teams feel like a vital needle movement compared to the entire league.
If you carry that possibility in a mild sense, then they are Camward and Chedure Sanders, as they are unknown products at the NFL level, but I'm stuck with my attitude about Rogers, Wilson and my cousins.
somehow.
Michael:
absolutely. The situation at this current quarterback is extremely boring. Both Cam and Shedeur offer a small amount of excitement about the situation “a new quarterback joins a new team” because it's the two quarterbacks in the draft and, as you said, the relative unknown. But in my honest opinion, these two are top passersby. This draft class feels primarily because they are not a true, true franchise player. Ward and Sanders are good quarterbacks! However, I don't think it was a top 10 pick last year either.
If you have to choose your favorite pairing, it's Rogers to the Steelers, as at least he can go out with a team that usually has a very high floor and has a new wideout at DK Metcalf. Plus, I'd love to see how Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers stand by. The possibility that these two will make a claim in their lost effort may be worth the admission fee.
Do you think the remaining veteran free agent wide receivers will have the most impact on the (final) new team, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper or Stefon Diggs?
Michael:
From a wide receiver perspective, there are three celebrities left in the market. All three are the best in the league at some point in their respective careers. But now they are over 30 years old and for some reason they are in a rough season.
At some point, they're all going to sign with the team. That is inevitable. My question here is what do you think will make the most impact for the team this year? And yes, the particular team they sign on can change the impact significantly, but let's skip that variable for now.
All three are old, and Diggs is specially from the ACL, who was 31 years old. But in reality, I think the best addition of these three is Diggs. Before he went down that year, he had another solid campaign, roughly adjusting his pace to the Texans for an additional 1,000-yard season.
Allen and Cooper were contributors to their respective teams, but nowhere near the pace of Diggs. The injury is scary, but when he was on the field last season, Diggs still seemed to have far more juice than the other two. He's my choice here.
RJ:
My answer is largely based on the team at which the receiver in question is finished. I know this is being stated, but I had to say it myself and under the right circumstances I could absolutely see Amari Cooper thriving once more.
Amari's biggest asset is always his route. If he dropped him to a team that didn't have to promote the pass-catcher group himself (as he definitely had to do in Cleveland and Buffalo), I could see him really shine.
Imagine Amari from the Miami Dolphins as an example. He worked really well as Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle ran all over the downfield.
If so, are there any teams you haven't thought about in a while?

RJ:
It feels like there wasn't a big splash in free agency, but it feels like almost every team had at least some mild waves and movements, at least throughout the pool of water.
That's true, but there were some teams that seemed more satisfied to sit on the wall and make it cold while others were dancing…or danced in the process, looking nasty. The Indianapolis Colts feel that they are in the middle of these two analogies as they are one of the most boring teams in the league right now.
Consider that changing the big franchise that Indy played this offseason was a sign of Daniel Jones. It's not hard for American football fans to get excited about the controversy at the quarterback position, but are you fascinated by the idea that Daniel Jones will take it off with Anthony Richardson? Yawn.
The Colts have been a way to do it for a while and it seems they don't even know where to start with how to get out. It is tough.
Michael:
I'm staying in the same department and with the Tennessee Titans. And they have all the picks first!
This team seems so incredibly boring and I don't think they've done anything with a free agency so far to make me think better about them. Will they get a quarterback (probably a comeward)? He throws to Calvin Ridley… that's it. Which run game? Who is crushing it for their defense? What should this team wear hats? Under Mike Vrabel, they felt like they had an identity and then abandoned him because it wasn't enough to be average every year, so they were so cool that they fired him and then won the first pick.
Love it when the plan comes together.
The UFL will begin its second season this weekend. Are you watching?

Michael:
So I loved all the spring football leagues that have come out in recent years. I was invested in the American Football Alliance in 2019 and have seen all the ounces of the XFL and UFL since its establishment, including a shortened 2020 season.
The 2025 UFL season begins on Sunday, March 30th. Over the past few years, several family friends have been on the coaching staff at the Arlington Renegades. We'll be cheering for the 2023XFL Champion and King of Spring's own Luis Perez again.
Spring Football League can hear many names that have been forgotten in recent years, so you can hear NFL players who remember seeing their first or second year before disappearing without any traces, especially the former university standout.
Have you ever become a spring soccer watcher in recent years? Have you seen it at all this year?
RJ:
Alliance is definitely a league I was seriously interested in, and I think it was the first thing that came out and came out. It felt like spring football was legally possible, but unfortunately the league sadly folded before it finished its first season.
Ultimately, I like how there's a spring league and praise them for doing so that players can continue to work on their craft and hopefully find spots in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys have two special team stars at Cabonta Etterpin and Brandon Aubrey, and may not have been discovered if these leagues were not present.
More soccer isn't a bad thing. Until now.
