Michelle Obama Remembers Rob and Michelle Reiner
Former First Lady Michelle Obama opened up on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” about the tragic loss of her friends, Rob and Michelle Reiner. She shared that the Obamas were supposed to meet with the Reiners on the night they were murdered.
“Oh my god, we’ve known them for years,” she stated, expressing the shock and sadness that followed the news. She referred to the Reiners as “some of the most decent and courageous people you could ever want to know.”
Michelle emphasized their character, contrasting them with others in the public eye, seemingly hinting at President Donald Trump. “They were not crazy, they were passionate in a time lacking courage,” she remarked.
Tragically, Rob, aged 78, and Michelle, 68, were found stabbed in their Los Angeles home. Their son, Nick, was arrested and charged with their murder and is currently being held without bail.
Michelle Obama further highlighted that the Reiners were individuals devoted to their principles, stating, “They cared about their families, their country, and equity.” She reiterated her deep understanding of their character, reflecting on their commitment to justice.
Former President Barack Obama expressed his heartbreak in a statement, noting that both Rob’s contributions to film and television and the couple’s dedication to their values would be remembered fondly. He wrote, “They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless others they inspired.”
