The Ohio State University ‘sunsets’ offices amid ongoing review of DEI work

Ohio State University (OSU) will “sunset” the Center's office for Diversity and Inclusion and Attribute and Social Change on Friday.

The office closure reportedly affected the positions of 16 professional staff. The school said workers will not lose their position for at least 60 days and will help them find work within the affected employees when available. WBNS reported.

OSU President Ted Carter announced the closure Thursday, citing federal law enforced universities' elimination Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) Measurements on campus.

“Here in Ohio, there are bills that allow DEI to pass through Congress, and the Ohio Attorney General (our statutory counsel) advised us that his firm agrees to the federal government's position on the use of race in educational activities,” he said.
