The Period of Widespread Migration Has Ended

Trump’s National Security Strategy on Immigration

The national security strategy presented by President Donald Trump dismisses ongoing assertions that the diversity brought by immigrants enhances the country.

“The era of mass immigration is over,” the report, titled “The National Security Strategy of the United States,” declares.

The report emphasizes that a nation’s decisions regarding who to admit, in what numbers, and from which regions fundamentally shape its future. A sovereign nation possesses the right and duty to shape its trajectory. Historically, countries have limited immigration, hesitated to grant citizenship to foreigners, and imposed stringent standards on those seeking to enter. Recent experiences in various nations illustrate that mass immigration can stretch local resources, escalate crime rates, disrupt labor markets, and threaten national security. Therefore, the time for mass immigration must conclude.

The strategy underscores that “America’s prosperity and security rely on the cultivation and recognition of talent,” cautioning against using meritocracy as a reason to broaden access to the labor market under the guise of attracting ‘global talent’ at the expense of American workers.

Interestingly, the document emphasizes “America and Americans,” signaling that the nation comprises its people, not merely an economy reliant on labor. It states, “America and the American people must always come first in all our principles and actions.”

This approach reflects Trump’s inconsistent strategy for enhancing the economy through advancements in technology and innovation, contrasting sharply with President Joe Biden’s less favorable attempts at economic growth through an influx of young immigrants from underprivileged backgrounds.

The Trump strategy also highlights the necessity to limit foreign influence in the U.S., particularly concerning specific immigrant populations from countries such as China, India, Somalia, and predominantly Muslim nations.

Our goal is to safeguard our nation, its people, economy, territory, and way of life from external threats, including military attacks, foreign espionage, trade exploitation, and various forms of trafficking. We seek complete control over our borders and immigration processes, wanting a system where migration is orderly and states cooperate to prevent destabilizing population flows. We want to manage who enters our country.

The creation of the strategy document will involve staff drafting, review by senior government officials, and ultimately, confirmation by President Trump. This process is designed to reflect the president’s numerous statements, policies, and strategic challenges. Trump’s comments have often been more straightforward; for instance, he recently expressed his disapproval of Somali individuals residing in Minnesota, stating, “We don’t want them in our country.”
