Democratic strategist James Carville said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that racism in America “just hits you right in the face.”
Host Ari Melber said, “James, what’s on your fallback list?”
Carville said, “When people saw the racism in Idaho, what happened when women’s basketball was playing in Spokane and staying across the border in Idaho, they thought it was racist. Every time you think we’re working toward a post-racist world, these assholes drag you back to the world you actually live in. I was a favorite of Megyn Kelly and Jesse Watters, the preachy women who spoke on your show. I can promise you right now that I’d like to spend some time with you.”
Furthermore, he added: “Those girls were good. We beat them last year and made it to the final four. They lost the game. They had to kick them out of the hotel. They got to take them to Spokane. And then another interesting thing happened: When the Gonzaga University men’s basketball team was playing in Detroit, they were on the bus, and some Republican assholes said they were here. They were Jesuit college basketball players. Sometimes racism in this country slaps you in the face and says, here we are.”
