‘The Sticky’ Canceled After One Season At Amazon

Prime Video has decided not to update Adhesive The second season follows the release of the six-episode first season on December 6th.

The Canadian comedy featuring guest appearances by Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, Guillaume Cyr and Jamie Lee Curtis, despite receiving positive reviews, failed to attract the audience they needed (80 %onwards Rotten tomatoes).

Same as the one that was recently cancelled Pradeep in Pittsburgh, Adhesive I struggled to build a considerable audience following deadline.

Comedies usually take longer to find a footing compared to drama. This may explain why streaming platforms produce 30-minute comedy.

AdhesiveProduced by Blumhouse Television, Comet Pictures from Curtis, Jonathan Levine's Megamix and Sphere Media, inspired by Quebec's 2012 maple syrup robbery, over $18 million in syrup was stolen from the National Reserve .

The show follows Ruth Landry (Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who relies on crime after the bureaucracy threatens to take everything she cherishes. She works with a Boston gang (Diamanto Poulos) and a gentle French-Canadian security guard (CYR) to separate the multi-million-dollar robbery of Quebec's Maple Syropple Plus.

The series was created by Brian Donovan and Ed Hero. Other executive producers include Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bowler from Megamix, Curtis from Comet Pictures, Jason Blum, Chris Dickey and Jeremy Gold from Blumhouse TV, and Michael Dows.

Additional executive producers include Sphere Media, Lauren Grant, Josée Vallee and Bruno Dubé from Inc, and Comet Pictures from Assacide Producer Russell Goldman.
